A SPRING PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP
THIS WORKSHOP IS ONLY OPEN TO FRIENDS OF CORONADO HISTORIC SITE MEMBERS
Saturday, May 19, 2018, 10:30 AM to 2:00+PM (an indefinite time to end)
This workshop will be for all levels of experience and with any type of camera. The workshop will emphasize composition, lighting/shade, wide angle, exposure, depth of field, supplemental flash, sun/clouds, the mechanics of your camera, and the aesthetics of “photography of the grand landscape”. Along the hike, we will see and photograph rock goblins, ruins and beautiful red rocks in red rock Oak Canyon at Jemez Historic Site.
The workshop will be led by Barron (Bear) Haley.
Bear is a retired college teacher and resides in Pagosa Springs, CO. At a young age he developed an interest in photography. He has participated in photo classes and field workshop. He has won many photo competitions and has been published in textbooks and magazines. His photography is an art form and a way of sharing with others the magnificence of nature.
Difficulty: Per Matt Barbour (Regional Manager of Coronado and Jemez Historic Sites) in addition to visiting Jemez Historic Site, the photo workshop will include a hike up Oak Canyon, approximately 2 miles round trip. The hike will be over uneven ground and will include a side excursion up to a Jemez field house. He considers the hike to be moderate to strenuous. Hiking shoes are required, and it is suggested that participants bring hiking poles.
The workshop is limited to 30 participants.
Fee is $20 per person.
