Winter Guide

WinterGuide3

In the dormant days of New Mexico’s winter, the sky hangs low and gray. The air is still but frigid. With or without snow, the world feels muffled and slowed by the chill.

It’s the time of year to remember the expression “cold hands, warm heart” usually applied to people whose chilly hands belie a depth of compassion and feeling – of warmth. It’s a good description, too, for the goings-on in New Mexico over the winter. Hidden along frozen paths and darkened streets are mix of willing to face the cold outside.
