Kuaua Collections Digitization Project

First Day of Digitization

DSC-A0045

The staff and volunteers of Coronado Historic Site began digitizing the artifacts and archives from Kuaua Pueblo that are curated in Santa Fe in various facilities. Ranger Ethan, John, and volunteers Deborah and Jack photographed and collected data on about 22 complete (or nearly complete) pottery vessels. Diane, who was working in the Laboratory of Anthropology digitized hundreds of excavation documents from the 1930s already revealing information about our site that had been lost or forgotten. Keep checking back for weekly updates and photos over the course of this project which is expected to last into April.
