Critters in the Garden

DSCN1925

The gardens are winding down for the season, and most of the plants have finished producing. Although the plants are slowly dying, each leaf is teaming with life. We have many different types of insects, and have a large number of caterpillars in the sunflower garden. We are not sure exactly what type of caterpillar they are, but we have a feeling that they will become some type of moth. We captured about six and have them in a terrarium with plenty of leaves in our children’s hands on area, and  we will soon find out what they will become. We also harvested some of our sunflowers, and Ranger John and Ranger Ethan carefully removed the seeds and separated them on the Portal.
