Mary Weahkee and Lynette Etsitty visited our site last week to donate some items to our teaching collection from the Office of Archaeological Studies, as well as teach teach our staff some new demonstrations. By luck a school group was visiting Coronado Historic Site, and Mary did a spontaneous presentation for the group. Mary discussed many types of technologies including turkey feather blankets, yucca cordage, and different types of tools. Lynette brought some baskets that she had made, and two were replicated Anasazi baskets. These two are great assets to the State of New Mexico, and they are spreading prehistoric knowledge with the people young and old. Thank you Mary and Lynette for sharing your knowledge with us.
